Hi Mr. Carew,
Looking forward to seeing you at Target Field this year - the weather is getting better back here so it will soon be time for outdoor baseball once again. Be well - Steve :-)

Hi Rod,
I am a MN Twins fan from way back. My question is why can't they have a video replay with a fulltime umpire reviewing obviously wrong plays called /review; It is in the best interests of baseball to do that because we all saw the wrong call by the umpire when Joe Mauer clearly doubled in the last game played at the metrodome(Twins v. Yankees.) and the umpire missed it because he didn't visually have the right position; and we have the technology for that and as fans we deserve it!!
Please submit this as a request from me at your next playing rules' committee meeting.
Sincerely,
Larry D. Birger,Sr

I am glad when you were playing that I was a fan of yours.

I tried sending this in an email but your email dosent work.
Hello Rod,
I hope this finds its way to you. I recently purchaced a 1968 thunderbird from a friend and much to my suprise it had your name on a plate in the glove box and your Minnesota Twins bumper stckers still on. The car is still original and needs some care, however i do have the engine and transmission done. The rest is mostly cosmetic. Im planning on finishing it by August and am very excited. I am just wondering if there is anything you could tell me that is interesting about the car, and the original color so i can get a fresh coat of paint on it. I might even let you take it for a spin when im done! Any information you have would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Josh

Hello Rod. You were my first, of many, favorite ball players. It was your 1977 season that turned me into a baseball fanatic and a life long Rod Carew fan. You may remember, I won a Twins auction to have lunch at Jax Cafe with you. It was a few years back, and was a great honor. I do wish I had not invited my sister along as she took over the conversation with talk about travel and dinning. I had hopped to hear more about baseball. Thank you again for the thrill of spending a large block of time with you. I would love to do it again sometime. If you have a day open during one of your trips to the Twin Cities, I would love to treat you to a round of golf and dinner.

I have tried to send an email to invite you to visit our elementary school in Mineapolis on February 8, 2010, when we will be involved with a live video-conference with the Baseball Hall of Fame about Jackie Robinson and Civil Rights. It will not allow my email because it says your box is full. Any way to fis that?

I followed your career from the beginning. When I visited the Hall of Fame, seeing your plaque was my highlight. Thanks for helping me enjoy the game of baseball more.

:-) You are one of the great ones. I loved watching you play.
It is time to stop new players using drugs. Ban any new professional player to the minor or major leagues for life if their blood and/or urine tests show drug usage. Random spot checks are essential and complete testing of playoff teams is needed.
Grandfather currently signed players.

Hello Rod,
My name is Mark Brennan and am 48 years old. I grew up in St. Louis Park, MN. and played cub league and little league at the fields right next to the condos where you lived. I remember one time you were at the fields watching some games and a lot of kids were around your car. I always thought it was cool that you were there and were willing to talk to all of us. As I grew, you became, and still are my hero. I loved watching you play. I remember waiting with a friend outside of Met stadium, and got your autograph on the cover of my Twins yearbook. I still treasure that autograph (can barely read it anymore). Thanks for being such a great ball player and role model. You are the best!
Mark
